Chef Omayra has been cooking since she was 4 years old. She has been cooking meals for her family since that young age and was able to perfect her seasoning and technique.

Half of Omayra’s family is still in Puerto Rico and she feels half her heart is there. The concept that she had to bring a little of her Puerto Rico heritage to LA was realized by starting The Triple Threat Food Truck. For the past four years, the food truck became the ONLY Puerto Rican food truck in Los Angeles and has been

able to bring all Boricuas together and build a community.

The food truck braised a touch with stardom by getting featured by Buzzfeed’s Pero Like Channel as well as its appearance on The Cooking Channel’s Food Truck Nation show. Chef Omayra and her husband George have also recently competed and WON ( $12,000) on Guy’s Grocery Games that is constantly airing on repeat on The Food Network! Their daughter Maria also competed at the age of 7 and was the youngest contestant on Fox MasterChef Jr. (Season 6) and is now 14 and actively preparing items on our Dessert menu, specifically her flan that is AMAZING!

Just recently, Chef Omayra opened up her first brick and mortar location (RUMBA KITCHEN) in Downtown Los Angeles in the Little Tokyo area. They have been able to create a unique space that transports guests full senses to Puerto Rico without leaving LA!
